Olga Thelma May passed away on November 30, 2007 at the age of 93 years.

Thelma was born in Weyburn, SK on September 28, 1914, only child of Harry and Bessie Swift. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry May in 1979. Thelma is survived by her three daughters, Pat May and Irene (Don) Rogers of Salmon Arm and Joan (Dale) Primrose of Calgary.

Thelma grew up in Weyburn and married Harry in 1940. They started on a small farm in Saskatchewan and moved to Salmon Arm in 1958 where they ran a dairy farm of Jersey cows together with their daughter, Pat.

Harry and Thelma retired from farming in 1974 and moved to a small cherry orchard. After Harry’s death in 1979, Thelma continued to live on the property with her daughter, Pat, until she went into care in January 2007.

Thelma was active in Women’s Institute, St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Canoe and St. John’s Church in Salmon Arm. She was a founding member of the Shuswap Hospice Society.
