Shuswap Volunteer Search and Rescue Endowment
The Shuswap Volunteer Search and Rescue Endowment supports the ongoing work of Shuswap Volunteer Search and Rescue (SVSAR), a dedicated team of highly trained volunteers who provide emergency search and rescue services throughout the Shuswap region.
Since the late 1970s, SVSAR has served residents and visitors by assisting in the search, rescue, and recovery of lost or injured individuals in both urban and wilderness environments. Working alongside the RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, local fire departments, and the BC Coroners Service, volunteers respond to emergencies in all seasons and under a wide range of challenging conditions.
As one of British Columbia’s volunteer search and rescue organizations sanctioned by the provincial government, SVSAR members undergo extensive training and certification to ensure they are prepared for deployment in diverse terrain and circumstances. Their commitment, professionalism, and local knowledge play a vital role in keeping communities throughout the Shuswap safe.
The Shuswap Volunteer Search and Rescue Endowment helps ensure the long-term sustainability of this essential service. Income generated from the fund supports the organization’s mission and contributes to the resources needed to maintain training, equipment, and operational readiness.
Through this endowment, donors can help strengthen a legacy of volunteer service and support the dedicated individuals who stand ready to assist when help is needed most.
