The Shuswap Community Foundation offers a lasting way for donors to support the causes that matter most—through charities, areas of interest, local communities, scholarships, or broader community priorities. Memorial and tribute gifts can also honour a loved one while creating annual support for causes they valued.
Creating a fund through the Foundation provides individuals, families, and organizations with a simple, cost-effective alternative to establishing a private foundation, backed by professional stewardship.
Donations are invested as permanent endowment funds, generating ongoing support for local projects and opportunities across the Shuswap for generations to come. Donors are recognized through Foundation reports and records unless anonymity is requested.
The Foundation works with professional investment managers to steward these assets responsibly. As of June 30, 2025, Foundation assets exceeded $19 million, expanding long-term impact across the Shuswap.

Connecting Community with Opportunity
Through research conducted as part of our Vital Signs initiative, Shuswap Community Foundation has identified several key areas for funding support. Donations directed to these endowments are pooled within SCF’s “Community Fund” and are earmarked for each of the areas they are intended to support. This way, all donations are immediately contributing to the overall growth of the SCF Endowment as well as providing the community benefit the donor intended.
