The McGuire Lake Memorial Walkway is a lasting way to remember loved ones, honor friends, say thank you and celebrate life. Just a short stroll from the core of Downtown Salmon Arm, McGuire Lake Park is an oasis for all to enjoy its natural beauty. Dotted with benches and picnic tables this is a favourite location to enjoy a picnic or family gathering.
The Walkway is connected to a walking trail along the lake that provides wildlife viewing opportunities of various migratory birds, painted turtles and water lilies. Visit the Japanese Friendship Gate and relax in the oasis that is McGuire Lake.
The seasonal water fountain in the middle of the lake is a beautiful backdrop for reflecting on the memories of loved ones.

The Shuswap Community Foundation, through a partnership with the City of Salmon Arm, offers a unique opportunity for creating a memorial for you and your loved ones.

We invite you to purchase a personalized engraved brick to be placed on the Walkway. With your purchase of a memorial brick, you are creating a permanent legacy that honors your special bond with those that are dear to you.
PURCHASE A BRICK
With a one-time, $2000* tax deductible donation to the Shuswap Community Foundation’s Memorial Walkway Fund, your memorable moment is permanently remembered in many ways.
As part of the brick purchase, a Memorial Walkway Brick Order Form will need to be completed and signed as part of the ‘agreement for Sale of the Brick’.

*PLEASE NOTE: $1256.50 of a brick purchase is tax deductible, $743.50 is non-tax deductible to cover the cost of the brick, engraving, and installation.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- An engraved brick (24” X 12”) will be placed along the McGuire Lake Memorial Walkway.
- A portion of your donation will be invested in the Memorial Walkway Fund with the annual earnings to be distributed to respond to charitable needs within Salmon Arm.
- Your contribution (in the year of donation) will be recognized in the Shuswap Community Foundation’s Annual Report and on their website.
- The City of Salmon Arm and the Shuswap Community Foundation are committed to ensure that the path, the bricks and the landscaping will always be maintained to the best of their ability, weather and available staff, permitting.
