Jonathon Bruce Memorial Award

To honour and perpetuate Jonathon’s spirit of adventure and service, the Jonathon Bruce Memorial Award will be awarded annually to a graduate from School District 83 who has been actively volunteering or working in any emergency services field. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply through the SD83 district scholarship program which opens up each spring.

Ready Family Endowment

When friend Tom Brighouse was involved in establishing a Community Foundation Holly and Shayne realized that being founders would be the perfect way to give back to the community that supported them for so many years.  In 2007, Holly decided to support in perpetuity, two organizations close to her heart, the SAFE Society and Shuswap Hospice Society, and established the Ready Family Endowment.

Shuswap Rural Fund

We’ve launched the Shuswap Rural Fund, a charitable fund stream within the Shuswap Community Foundation, created specifically to support rural community organizations in based in rural Shuswap communities. This fund provides a dedicated way to support rural community priorities in the Shuswap.

Acuity Advisors Youth Sports Fund

Harlan Anderson and Eric Penner, partners at Salmon Arm accountancy firm Acuity Advisors LLP, both have three active kids that keep them very involved in youth sports. Having coached youth soccer, baseball and hockey, Harlan and Eric have seen first-hand the numerous benefits that sports programs offer children and youth.
