The Shuswap Emergency Preparedness Fund represents the evolution of the incredibly successful Emergency Response Fund, which provided nearly $1,000,000 to assist recovery and rebuilding efforts in the North Shuswap following the Bush Creek Wildfire. The goal is to create a proactive and responsive funding source that can be quickly leveraged or directly applied to communities facing crises, supporting immediate relief, recovery, and long-term resilience.
Today, the fund is dedicated to sustained assistance, focusing on helping community organizations address ongoing needs such as food security, shelter, and community recovery. These efforts extend beyond current disasters to ensure we are prepared for future challenges.
