Shuswap Theatre has been providing first class, thoughtful entertainment to the Shuswap for going on half a century. Growing audiences and financial supporters are testimony to the valued place we have in the community’s heart.
We are entirely run by volunteers, with each production involving anywhere from 50 to 80 volunteers. As a community theatre we are fortunate to own our own building, a converted radiator shop. Given its age there are fairly constant expenses involved in keeping it in good shape, attractive and comfortable for our patrons. Lighting and sound equipment, which constantly needs upgrading is also a major expense.
Apart from our three mainstage plays, we offer the Laughing Gas Improv experience to which anyone is invited to participate. In summer we host the extremely popular Musical Youth Summer Theatre program, which culminates in a fully staged musical performed by young people 10 to 18 years of age.
Your gift to the Shuswap Theatre Endowment Fund will aid us in our pursuit of excellence, providing a permanent cushion for hard times and a regular stream of revenue to produce great theatre for the people of the Shuswap.
