The Adams River Salmon Society Endowment supports the ongoing work of the Adams River Salmon Society in promoting the conservation of wild salmon and the natural and cultural heritage of Tsútswecw Provincial Park.
Since its formation, the Society has been dedicated to educating residents and visitors about the remarkable salmon ecosystem that has made the Adams River one of the most significant salmon-spawning areas in the world. Through interpretation, education, and stewardship initiatives, the Society helps foster a greater understanding of the vital relationship between salmon, wildlife, waterways, and local communities.
A key achievement of the Society has been the development and operation of the Tsútswecw Interpretive Centre, which provides visitors with opportunities to learn about the ecology of salmon and the surrounding environment. The Centre contributes to the regional economy by attracting visitors and enhancing recreational and educational experiences throughout the Shuswap.
In partnership with community organizations, government agencies, and volunteers, the Society also undertakes habitat restoration and conservation projects that support the long-term health of Tsútswecw Provincial Park and its ecosystems.
The Adams River Salmon Society Endowment helps ensure that these important educational and conservation efforts can continue for future generations. Through annual grants, the fund supports initiatives that encourage environmental stewardship, public education, and the protection of the natural and cultural resources that make the Adams River and Tsútswecw Provincial Park such treasured parts of the Shuswap region.
By supporting this fund, donors help preserve a lasting legacy of conservation, education, and community engagement centered on one of British Columbia’s most iconic natural phenomena.
