SCF Grant Supports RCMSAR Training

Funds assist with development of new recruits

Shuswap Community Foundation (SCF) gave a $15,750 grant for the training of new Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue recruits at Station 106 Shuswap. From their Sicamous marine rescue base, this inspiring team of volunteers provides search and rescue services across the Shuswap Lake system.

The SCF grant helped volunteers receive vital training in first aid and radio communications, as well as small vessel operator certification.

We are so grateful to these volunteers for their commitment to safety on the water. Read more about their recent training, and the reasons why these individuals do what they do to keep residents and visitors safe, in this article from the Salmon Arm Observer.
