The Salmon Arm Bay Nature Enhancement Society (SABNES) is embarking on an exciting project to rebuild a new boardwalk and wildlife viewing platform. This is more than just a structure; it’s an opportunity to preserve access to one of the few remaining urban wetlands where 282 bird species thrive, including the remarkable courtship displays of the Western Grebes.
The Shuswap Lifeboat Society (SLS) supports the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Shuswap Station 106 (RCMSAR), whose well-trained and dedicated volunteers contribute an average total of 4800 hours of time annually to save lives on the water. RCMSAR crews conduct anywhere from 30 to 50 missions per year rendering assistance and medical aid.
