Shuswap Community Foundation is very proud to support the Shuswap Lifeboat Society and the important work they do to keep our lakes safe. Please take a few moments to watch the below video to get a glimpse of what they do as well as see one of the many projects and groups that SCF supports in Sicamous and throughout the Shuswap. All the best to Rob and everyone at the Society.

Shuswap Lifeboat Society

Each year, Pat Gau of our Rescue Station creates a video of some of the work and missions we have conducted in the year. This year’s video contains interviews with some of the members related to specific missions as well as dedicates the end to our Station Leader, Rob Sutherland. Rob recently was awarded the National Coast Guard Auxiliary Medal for Leadership given all he has done in bringing Station 106 Shuswap to be one of the top stations in the Pacific Command. Rob has just announced he is stepping down as Station Leader, turning the reins over to Fred Banham. As Rob says, “It’s time for a change of leadership to bring our station to a different level.” Rob will continue with the station as our Training Officer.
